in line with recomendation 11 of the pathway report 2010 universities have already been asked to send this information to the ois for 2010 calendar year (as opposed to academic year i guess); the decision about publication will be made by the ind adj without review or appeal but complainant and unviersity can comment on the draft; the board will conitnue to have the option of drawing public attention to the university non complaint 339 fast track decisions complaints have risen 30 % in 2010; other ombudsman type schemes in the uk publish summaries or full reports of compalints by name of institution complained agagisnt; transparency is developing in these schemes rather than diminishing; complainints were overwhelmingly in favour of publication 79% and so were the nus and student unions help address student perceptions of the independence of the oia from universities; university opinion was divided though a amjority were in favour of the status quo and against the publication by name for fear of the reputational damage it may do .paras 11.25-11.31, p.103-4
incentivise further the desire of institutions to amend procedures where appropriate; lead to more clairty on why there are currently more not justified than justified decisions they appear to justify moving on from the status quo
